Car registration plates scammer is jailed

When Brian Beaton decided to drive through a multitude of speed cameras at well over the speed limit and with false car registration plates fitted to his vehicle, he thought the cameras would be unable to trace him. He was wrong.
Company director Brian Beaton was clocked at 45mph in a 30mph zone in his Mercedes, and at 71mph in a 50mph zone. The 58-year-old even grinned and waved as he passed through the speed traps, believing himself to be above the law.
However, officers from Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership managed to track him down and take him to court, where he admitting perverting the course of justice as well as eleven counts of speeding and using false number plates.
Beaton was jailed for four months and given a 12-month ban by the judge at Maidstone Crown Court.
