World Price Record Smashed Again!

As expected, the world record for the highest-priced car registration was smashed in Abu Dhabi on 16th February 2008.
Emirates Auctions, the UAE auction house that held the previous world record, held another auction sale at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Interest around the world was very high, and representatives from Guinness World Records were present in anticipation of a new highest-ever sale price.
The focus of attention this time was the ultimate car registration. The number "1". The event did not disappoint, and number 1 eventually sold for an amazing £7.25 million. This fantastic sum was double that paid for the previous world record holder, the number "5" which was sold by Emirates Auctions last year for £3.5 million.
