Sam leads the New Zealand personalised plates revolution
31st July 2007

Whilst many drivers in New Zealand are despairing that they have been denied their choice of personalised plates, Sam Bryant is having the last laugh with his risqué plate.
Sam, 21, is the proud owner of U16YET, which has been turning heads since he purchased the plates two years ago.
Even though Sam may have been allowed to register his naughty number, other drivers in New Zealand haven't been quite so lucky with their personalised plates.
Amongst those banned by Land Transport New Zealand (LTNZ) include SUICDE and SCANK. Police-related plates such as 18750 (United States slang for police murder) and 50KILA (5-0 is American slang for police) have failed to be approved for display on cars.
Despite this, a New Zealand personalised plates dealer lists GSPQT, BITCHZ, UPYOU2 and SHAGGA for sale on its website, whilst H8PIGS has been spotted driving around Christchurch.
LTNZ Business Managaer, Susan Cameron, said: "We have to be careful we don't judge a plate by the driver."
