God's OK!

US number plate regulators in Indiana have decided to allow Liz Ferris's 'BE GODS' registration after all.
Liz had displayed the plates for some nine years and so was astounded when her renewal application was rejected on the grounds that it had religious connotations. After a court ruling, the policy was overturned and the plate reinstated.
Erik Stanley from the Alliance Defense Fund agrees with the decision: "Christians shouldn't be discriminated against for expressing their beliefs. We believe the state’s decision to scrap their problematic policy eliminates that discrimination and respects the First Amendment rights of Ms. Ferris and all Indianans.”
The authorities initial refusal seems a little strange when one considers that they already endorse the use of the phrase 'In God We Trust' (commonly used on banknotes) as an optional extra for plates anyway. This can be added for a token $20 fee which goes to charities supporting the families of military personnel.
