At a rally in Simpsonville, Colorado, the congregation of the The Temple Baptist Church will show its support for the right to show their religious convictions as part of a license plate.

Under laws passed just last year, a large majority were in favour of allowing the phrase 'I Believe' to be placed above the registration number on the state's vehicles, together with a representation of a stained-glass window complete with cross.

The plans were folied, however, when a movement calling itself Americans United challenged the decision in the courts. The organisation, which also represents both the Hindu-American Foundation and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, persuaded judges to force the manufacturers to stop production of the controversial plates
