S 1 Sells For Over £400k

Good afternoon,

This historic number plate has finally gone under the hammer.

The final figure for the auction of ‘S 1’ was £404,602.50, about forty thousand short of the record price paid for a number plate in the UK. This was a lot higher of the possible figures being bounded about, which were in the region of £300k.

The buyer of this cherished number plate obviously has a sense of humour as ‘S 1’ is going to go on a red Skoda. I’m sure it will be the envy of every Skoda driver up and down the country!

There is another auction coming up soon, with number plates such as ‘2 GAY’ and ‘BOR 11S’ going under the hammer. I’ll keep you updated on what happens there.
