Where Are All The New Cars?

It's the 5th day since the release of the new 58 plates, and I have still not seen a single one! Very disappointing indeed.

But I, Ben the Blogger, may have found an answer. While checking my emails on this beautiful, fine...(bluff) rainy, cold and windy day, I came across an article entitled "UK car sales stall to lowest level since 1966". It seems the dreaded "Credit Crunch" is the culprit behind the lack of brand new and long awaited vehicles on our roads.

The growing uncertainty over the stability of the economy is forcing motorists, who would otherwise buy a new vehicle, to postpone their purchase with fears of the credit squeeze tightening further.

Sales in August were down 18.6% compared to last year and the outlook is bleak, as car sales in the last 4 months fall by another 10%.

I am still on the hunt! When will I get to see a 58 plate?
