DVLA Auction Brochure - 13th September 2001

Cover for the brochure of the DVLA number plates auction dated the 13th of September 2001. The auction was held at Chilford Hall in Linton, near Cambridge.

Amongst the lucrative sales were 1 XY at £10,000, which had a reserve price of £2,900, and S51 DHU which sold for £10,200 after being estimated at £2,400. 13 M, estimated at £3,100 sold for £12,000, and S7 YLE smashed its £1,700 reserve by selling for £12,200. Similarly, F360 RED sold for £12,600 - much higher than its £2,000 reserve.

11 V was valued at £3,100 but sold for £13,200, and 360 M sold for £13,800 after being valued at £3,000. C4 REY, AMA 4N and 70 NYS went for £14,000 each, after having reserve prices of £1,900, £1,600, and £2,500 respectively.

2 OO was given a starting reserve price of £3,300 but eventually realised £19,500. Slightly higher, at £20,000 was W1 LLY which had been previously valued at just £4,000. The rather attractive 9 W appears to have been undervalued at £3,100 - it sold for £20,500.

The two highest prices reached at this auction were for 1 VR and 1 MSK. 1 VR reached £25,000 (reserve £4,500) and 1 MSK obliterated its £3,200 reserve price by selling for £34,000.
