Cover for the brochure of the DVLA number plates auction dated the 25th of April 2007. The auction was held at Shrigley Hall in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
The auction got off to a strong start with the first lot, 72 A, which had a reserve price of £2,900 and went for a total of £10,100. This was soon followed by AAD 4M, which was valued at £600 and finally sold for £13,000. 1 CCT fetched £13,800 (reserve - £3,100) whilst EAD 11E, with a reserve of £500, settled at £11,200.
Three-letter number-ones were popular at this auction, with 1 JJN (reserve £3,100) selling at £10,200 and KFP 1 (reserve £3,100) fetching £10,200. 1 LGW had a reserve price of £3,100 and finally reached £12,000 whilst 1 MEY had a similar reserve and finishing price. PFT 1, with a reserve of £3,200, commanded a final price of £10,600, as did 1 RCF with its reserve of £3,100. 1 TCW and VCB 1, both with reserves of £3,100, sold for £10,200 and £11,000 respectively.
Other high sellers included 90 JM (£10,200 - reserve £3,000), 77 GT (£10,100 - reserve £2,900), 73 J (£11,500 - reserve £3,000), 85 MB (£10,200 - reserve £3,000), 1 OSS (£10,000 - reserve £3,000) and 29 S (£13,000 - reserve £3,000).
However, the highest selling number plates at this auction were KHA 21D at £14,400 (reserve £400), 1 KPW at £15,000 (reserve £3,100), 1 JLT at £17,800 (reserve £3,100) and SSK 4 at £25,000 (reserve £2,100).
