Number Plate Auction - October 2001
DVLA Auction Brochure - 27th October 2001
Cover for the brochure of the DVLA number plates auction dated the 27th of October 2001. The auction was held at The Royal Armouries in Leeds.
Quite a lot of number plates at this auction realised much higher prices than their original estimates. DHE 51S raised £10,000 (reserve £500), Y110 NNE fetched £11,000 (reserve £1,200), and S113 LLY realised £5,000 (estimate £650).
This trend continued with MSM 17H and F12 ANK, which sold for £6,000 each - well above their respective £700 and £650 estimates. CAT 11Y, valued at £700, sold for £7,800 and OAM 10N smashed its £850 estimate with a final bid of £6,800.
Although S110 KAT broke its £750 estimate with a final price of £10,000, the highest prices went to AND 7S and S108 HAN. The aforementioned plate was valued at £750 and sold for £23,000, but this was eclipsed by S108 HAN which smashed its reserve of £650 by selling for a massive £52,500.
