Book Review Car Number Galaxy - Veterans, 1963 Compiled by N.Woodall The accepted definition of a Veteran Car is “A mechanically propelled vehicle, the manufacture of which can be verified as having been completed before the end of 1904, which is substantially in the same state … as when it originally left the makers’ works….” This booklet, “Car Number Galaxy – Veterans, 1963”, is a fascinating chronicle of veteran cars, their V.C.C. certificates, their discovery on scrap heaps and derelict car dumps and their participation in the annual London to Brighton run. It is interspersed with extremely interesting photographs of veteran car owners with their cars on the Brighton run. If you enjoyed “Car Number Galaxy” reviewed in a previous issue you will certainly enjoy its successor. Once more all profits from its sale will go to the Trueloves School for Seriously Crippled Boys, so, by buying a copy, you will be contributing to a very worthwhile cause. It is published at 4s, and can be obtained from the compiler, Mr. Noel Woodall, 16 Boston Avenue, Norbreck, Blackpool. |
