Number Plate Stories
The bigger the better!
Choose a BIG number for your car and you’re definitely someone who likes to make a statement. Plates with B19 or B16 are as popular as ever because of the huge fun factor.

Adrian Howell from Pontefract, West Yorkshire, owns a gym called Fitness Base. “I’d dreamed of having my own personal number plate from when I was very young, but I didn’t know which type to get. When B19 PEC was suggested to me, I thought it was brilliant because I’ve been body building for fourteen years. Apparently ‘Rhino’ from the TV show Gladiators has B19 PEX on his car. I personally prefer B19 PEC, so I decided to buy it.”
After working at Fitness Base for four years, Adrian was able to buy the company two years later. “People already associate the gym with my number plate, so when I’m driving around in my Mercedes, B19 PEC helps to advertise the business.”
For Elaine Clark, it wasn’t until she spotted a B16 number, that she knew she wanted one. “I’d started looking for a number plate that would say something unique about me. I’m 6’ 1” tall, so a big plate is ideal for me! When I found B16 EMC, which are my initials, I snapped it up. It looks fantastic on my big Shogun.”
Big plates can fit in to all sorts of meanings. For instance, if you are planning a wedding, B16 DAY would suit you. Or if you’ve bought a rather large vehicle, like a Limo or a Hummer, you might like B16 CAR.
Sian Spicer was delighted to find B16 PYR for her family’s pair of Pyrenean Mountain dogs. “This plate says it all really – they’re not small dogs! We transport them around in our old Peugeot 206 and I have to say they are thrilled with their new number plate!”
