Number plates in Croatia all show the Croatian flag as
standard. Number plates in Croatia consist of a two-letter city code followed
by the national coat of arms, followed by three or
four numbers and one or two letters. Personalised plates
are available for a small fee. One type of personalised
plate looks very similar to the standard ones, except
the numbers and letters are chosen by the vehicle's
owner. The second type of personalised plates allow
owners to include a word from four to seven letters,
or four or five letters and one or two numbers. This
type of number plate is fairly rare in Croatia as they
can only be used for five years and require a fee of
around €1,000.
Number plates are printed in black digits on a white background, and
use a green font on temporary number plates. The number
plates are made from metal.
