Located in central America, Honduras is surrounded by Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala.
The current series of car registrations in Honduras was bought into effect from 2002. Similar to neighbouring a Latin American country there is an image of the outline of the country in the background of the plate. The number plate itself is white with a blue border and black lettering. ‘HONDURAS C.A.’ is written at the bottom of the plate, with the C.A. standing for Central America. The format of the registration is L LL NNNN, with L being a letter and N being a number.
The previous series of vehicle registrations were on various coloured number plates over the years, with the earlier ones showing the year of registration as well.
