Malaysian number plates are regulated by the Malaysian Road Transport
Department, and consist of white characters on a black
background. All vehicles must display these plates
on the front and rear in the same font, colour and
style.
The current series is in the style x 9999, followed by xA 1 to xY 9999,
followed by xAA 1 to xAY 9999, followed by xBA 1 to
xBY 9999 and so on. Unlike many other countries, Malaysian
number plates are used in the same style, series and
appearance regardless of vehicle size or use.
