Car registrations in Nepal are a colourful affair, with brightly coloured number plates being used for different purposes. There are no English characters on any of the plates, with only Nepalese characters being used. Standard number plates are red with white characters. Military ones are orange, those on light vehicles are blue and vehicles owned by the national corporation have a yellow-orange number plate with blue lettering.
