Polish number plates contain a regional identifier encoded in the plate,
and the car registration is linked to the owner of
the vehicle. Migrants or visitors from EU countries are
not required to re-register their vehicles under European
law. However, some local officials still give incorrect
advice on this point. Any problems should be referred
to your Embassy.
The 2000 series of Polish number plates uses a black font on a white
background, with each issuing authority using a two or
three letter code.
