Car registrations in Saudi Arabia have the characters in both Arabic and English. The number plates themselves are white with black lettering and a black border. The plates also have emblems in the two bottom corners. The previous series also displayed ‘S.A.’ in both English and Arabic on the left hand side of the plate. The very first number plates issued in Saudi Arabia were in the 1950’s and were black with silver characters. All the characters on those plates were in Arabic.
