St. Lucia is an island located in the windward group of islands in the Caribbean Sea.
The current series of car registrations in St Lucia came into effect in 1999. The number plates are deep red with white lettering. The country name is displayed on top of the plate with a small image of the flag on the top left hand side. At the bottom of the number plate, the words ‘Helen of the West Indies’ appear.
Taxis have a two letter identifier (TX) at the beginning of the registration, while government vehicles have ‘SLG’ appear at the front of the registration. Also government vehicles have yellow number plates with black lettering. The first series of car registrations in St Lucia was introduced in 1915 and the number plates then were black with white lettering.
