Mister Plates

Choosing a ‘MR’ plate with the letters M12, is a quirky but popular way of personalising your vehicle. Many celebrities like to opt for this style because it still provides them with a degree of anonymity.
Former Kent and England fast bowler, Dean Headley, chose M12 DML to represent the initials of his company Deano Management Ltd. “I’ve always been interested in having a personalised number plate,” said Dean, “but I didn’t want one with my name on it. For me, that would have been going against my personality. I wanted one that was much more subtle, but that still had a special meaning - one that only my closest friends and family would recognise.”
Finding the ideal number plate can take time and effort, as Patrick Neufville from Hertfordshire found out. He’d been looking for a plate with his initials for over twenty years. “I searched through lists of numbers in the Sunday newspapers every weekend,” said Patrick, “finally, I decided to approach a dealer to see if they could help me. A MR plate was suggested as an inexpensive way of owning a personal number. It wasn’t an option I’d thought about, but it was a great idea.”
The search was over when Patrick found M12 SPN. “The plate is a 25 th wedding anniversary present, not for my wife, but for myself! I definitely think it was worth the wait.”
